Wing Luke Museum & International District


We had a fantastic time on our tour of the International District!


We participated in the traditional Lion Dance.  The Wildcats made fierce lions!

.

We learned the traditional folktale of Nian the New Year's monster.  We worked together to create a picture of what we thought it looked like.


We learned some fascinating facts about the history of the International District and the cultures that inhabit it.



We played Lucky Chess and found out what our good luck numbers were for the year.

    it was fun when we went to Chinatown we did some fun things I especially liked playing the lucky chess my lucky number was 8!!!

    To me Nain looked liked a: Fish/bird/duck/”Nain cat”/roster/gator.

    I really wanted to buy a goldfish at the pet store but the pet store was closed.

    We went to the factory where noodles and fortune cookies are made.
    They made 18 different noodles and flavored cookies!

    The trip to china town was great we learned a lot of stuff about the history. A friend and I were the only people that knew which lion was the boy it’s the one with the ball under his foot and the girl is the one with the baby lion under the foot.

    This was the most fun field trip ever.

    The museum was awesome because we had a tour of the town. We got to do the lion dance and we had a blast!!!!!!

    When we went to Chinatown I thought one of the best parts was learning how to do the lion dance under the lion costume it was very fun!!!!

    I liked the field trip we got to see lions, an old apartment and we went to a Chinese restaurant.:)

    Yesterday we went to the Wing Luke museum. We saw some amazing sights. Here are some: we saw balconies with Chinese writing, we saw guard lions, we saw Japanese advertising, and we played lucky chess.
