Today we did a simple test of Newton's 1st law by hitting stationary marbles with ones in motion.

Seabury Science Fair

Earlier this month I sent home Science Fair packets for our Annual Seabury Science Fair. A lot of the kids have already turned in their plans and they sound fantastic!  I can't wait to see the wonderful final products.  We will be working more with the scientific process as we continue our unit on Physics.  I will be discussing testable questions and what a good hypothesis looks like with students as well.

Class Bill of Rights

A while back we started a Class Bill of Rights to help our class be the best Wildcats we could be.  After MUCH discussion we finally came up with a list we are happy with.  We even learned a lesson in proofreading while we were at it.  (Our first copy stressed the importance of reporting dangerous beavers ).

We have the right to…

· Food that helps us focus

· Learn

· Not to be Interrupted

· Our privacy and the privacy of our belongings

· Be listened too

· Our safety

· Report dangerous behaviors

· Not be distracted by others

· Only positive private criticism

· Not be threatened

· A quiet workplace

· Our personal space

Seattle Asian Art Museum

We had a fabulous trip to the SAAM this week. 

The Asian art was beautiful and the students had a great time finding all of the things on their art scavengar hunt. 

In addition, I asked them to find items that were created by Chinese artists.  They were able to tell me all about the stunning Jade pieces, elegant silk screens, and the intricate hand bell.

B.B. Wolf vs. Curly Pig

Today we practiced our courtroom procedures as well as our reading fluency skills in the Reader's Theater Case of B.B. Wolf vs. Curly Pig.  Curly is charged with attempted assault and battery.  He is being accused of setting a trap to purposely injure his friend Big Bad Wolf.  Today we presented the facts and eye witness statements. Tomorrow the "jury" members will consider the evidence and deliberate on the case.    Stay tuned to find out if Curly will be found Guilty or Innocent! :)
